The River Canche is the perfect river to learn and practice white water paddling skills in beautiful surroundings.
The trip will be limited to those 18 and over unless accompanied by a parent.
Each paddler must be up to 2 Star award (the old British Canoeing award scheme)
Jamie Houghton and Paul Harris – two of our top coaches – will be leading this trip. They have a lot of skill to pass on. Don’t miss out!
This trip is ideal for those who have flat water experience and would like to develop their skills and experience moving water. The River Canche is moving water, mainly flat with weirs.
Age: 18+ (under 18s care welcome to join the day trip provided that they are accompanied by an adult, please email Jamie at info@seapointcanoecentre.co.uk)
Ability: Each paddler must be up to the old British Canoeing 2 Star award.
Programme:
06:45 a.m. Meet at Seapoint to load kayaks and kit
08.36 a.m. Eurotunnel
10.11am Arrive Calais
Upper Canche paddle (approximately 8 miles)
6.00 p.m. Meal (the cost is not included, please bring euros or a credit card to cover your meal)
21.20 p.m. Return Shuttle (French time)
20.55 p.m. Arrive Folkestone on Eurotunnel, return to Seapoint Canoe Centre, Princes Parade, Hythe
Kit needed for the day:
Passport
Euros for the meal out
Sandwiches etc. and drinks for late breakfast / lunch
Change of clothes from we canoeing clothes.
A black sack / waterproof bag for the wet kit (we don't like wet seats!)
It is your responsibility to arrange travel insurance.
