Do you want to gain confidence on a Sit on Top Kayak? Are you wanting accompanied time on the water before planning your own paddle? Then our new SOT Social Group sessions could be just what you're after.

SOT socials are a great opportunity to paddle with like minded people along the Royal Military Canal to chat, paddle, practise paddle skills, while being accompanied by a qualified instructor. A safe and fun social group to explore the canal and get some paddle time in.

A basic level of SOT skill will be required. Dress appropriately for the weather.

The session takes place on The Royal Military Canal located between Hythe and Seabrook.

  • Minimum of 4 participants for the course to run, maximum 12.

  • Arrive 15 minutes before the session time to get kitted out (we provide all the equipment) unless you’d like to bring your own board and life vest

  • Use of kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid

  • Licensing requirements for the Canal

  • Led by a qualified Instructor, no tuition as this is a social paddle for those with skills wanting to practise together

  • Wetsuits are not provided so please bring your own if you wish to wear one.

  • Basic toilet and changing area available.

Note: Our Centre is located on Prince’s Parade, and is in view of the seafront. If driving from Folkestone, turn left onto Prince’s Parade and Seapoint will be the second turning on your right, the car park is signposted. There is pay and display parking (coins or use the RINGO app) in the car park adjacent to the centre, metred parking is also available on Prince’s Parade.
